About me
Becky Maher-Jacobson (she/her) works in the Adult Services department with an emphasis on
Readers’ Advisory at Carnegie-Stout Public Library in Dubuque, Iowa. She holds her Master’s in
Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is a member of
the ILA Intellectual Freedom Committee. Becky was previously a middle school band director for
seven years before coming to the dark side and joining the world of public librarianship. She
enjoys hanging out with her dogs and her husband (in that order), attempting to keep plants
alive, and of course, reading.
